Thank you SO MUCH for the 8 volunteers we had last night, these events would have to be cancelled without you! Plus as some of you mentioned you have to volunteer at least once at an evening TT to be featured in the end-of-season results!

We had 9 riders last night, all from ARCC, across almost every Sunday group (G1 riders, where you at?).
This is a few less than usual so I’m going to give a little more detail on each of them.
Darran Eggleton, our tireless kit manager put in another big effort 24 hours after finishing a tough CX race in MK last night.
Rich Jones, using last night as a warm-up before taking on an ‘Open 25’ in Cambridge on Sunday. Opens are the next level above our club TTs and it’s great to see riders taking this step. Good luck!
Andy Wright, I believe last night was Andy’s first club TT, not that you’d have known as he went zooming off from the start & was still zooming by at the finish line.
Bex Green, showed she meant business using clip-on tri bars for the first time, I imagine they also helped her get home before dark as Bex made a real evening of it by riding to & from the TT, we love to see it!
Vaughan Ward, rode while Shirley Ward checked for front & rear lights & welcomed riders back to the lay-by at the end of their efforts. A dynamic duo & exactly what we needed. P.S. Vaughan would have been our oldest competitor on the night had it not been for his vintage steed!
Richard Langrish, offered to help volunteer but wasn’t needed thanks to the legends above so I suggested he ride instead. A few weeks off the bike didn’t put him off, chapeau.
Michael Carney, likewise offered to help but jumped at the opportunity to ride, a special thanks to Michael who I know has been banging the TT drum in the G5 WhatsApp.
Paul Robinson, this was Paul’s first-ever TT which is huge! Not even a last-minute mechanical could hold him back. Now we’ve got him we’re not letting him go, see you in 2 weeks for the next one!
Ed Haynes, ploughs his own furrow. He showed that last night by going the wrong way at pretty much the first opportunity! To be fair to him he proceeded to complete the up & down 10-mile TT course that we use ⅔ of the time rather than the square 10-mile TT course we only use ⅓ of the time. To add insult to injury, Kerryn Haynes was marshalling the second left-hand turn which Ed never made it to.
Times
As we all know the ARCC TTs are about having fun, setting a time, trying to beat it next time & pushing yourself. That being said there is also the opportunity for competition & good-spirited rivalry. I hope the three riders below won’t mind me singling them out but their times were so close.

Hopefully, we see all three back riding in 2 weeks (3rd August). It’s a slightly slower course but they’ll have each other to try & beat.
