Sunday Rides leave at 9:00 am from the Link Road Car Park in Great Missenden (check Car Park fees).
Saturday Rides leave at 9:00 am Apr-Oct and 10am Nov-Mar from the Link Road Car Park in Great Missenden (where parking is £3.60 for up to 9 hrs on Saturdays). Free parking is available in surrounding roads, if you look around.

Club Ride Descriptions
In order for the club rides to run as smoothly as possible for everybody’s enjoyment and safety, please read the following ride descriptions and choose the group most suited to your ability. Not too fast, or you won’t be able to keep up, and you will hold up the rest of the group, but also not too slow as you’ll be bored and tempted to shoot off the front. Familiarise yourself with the advertised route; while nobody will be dropped you should be able to make your own way back in extreme circumstances. This is especially important in the Aston Group, where “drop rides” may be agreed from time to time.
Most routes are shown in the route library and often GPS files are available for download. Unless a very experienced group rider, new members should ride in a lower group before attempting a higher group.
NB – You must have come on a New Joiners Introductory Ride before joining one of the regular Sunday/Saturday group rides.
In the table below the Group Leader is responsible for finding a volunteer to lead the ride each Sunday.

Saturday Ride
These are now run all year round (depending on weather). The meeting place is usually at the Link Road Car Park in Great Missenden, but rides may sometimes start from a different location – please check Club Rides for details. It is advisable to have good tyres and a spare tube. Mudguards are essential in the wet and are mandatory from 1 November to 31 March.
The Saturday Ride tends to be a more social ride and will typically be ridden at a pace at a pace and distance somewhere between that of Whiteleaf and Kop; however, this will be determined largely by the composition of the group on the day. Nobody will be dropped.
Group Size
Club rides are a maximum of 10 per led group. Where there are more than 10 riders, the group will sub divide into smaller groups of say 6 – 8 riders with each sub group needing a ride leader on the road.
It is important that before riding in any of our groups you will need to go on the Introductory Ride, prospective new members should contact – New Joiners Co-ordinator to book on to the next New Joiners ride.
New Joiners Ride
Prospective members should be prepared to come on this ride before joining one of the regular rides. Total ride distance of these Introductory Rides is 30-40 miles at an average speed of 12-13mph. The emphasis will be on bike handling skills and safe group riding, including positioning on the road, hand signals, pointing out holes, etc. Although we will always wait for slower riders, potential new riders should be able to cycle 40 miles in 3 to 4 hours on their own. There will be a mixture of people on this ride, ranging from strong riders who simply have not ridden in clubs before, to newer riders who want to try out road cycling in a supportive environment. The ride will be run at the pace of the slowest rider, with stronger riders encouraged to stretch their legs where appropriate and take hills at a faster pace. This ride will be organised periodically when there are sufficient numbers of people, usually once a month on a Saturday morning starting from Chiltern Velo in Hawridge.
