For those who want to get back early enough to see live action of England losing seven nil, there will be a shorter, non-stop ride so you can be home for 1:00pm

Ben to lead.  Route to be decided.

50+/- miles

Route details for this ride will be shown as soon as I have them.

Sunday Ride: Group 3 .
Jun 24 @ 9:00 am

Andy May will lead a loop around Aylesbury. Coffee stop G&D, Quainton. The route is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/25943250

Sunday Ride: Group 4
Jun 24 @ 9:00 am

Phil Dodd leads this Sunday

To Dorney Lake 48.6 mi +1846 ft

https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12970900

Important: all with GPS gubbins please download this route before the ride.

Profile: This ride to Dorney is nearly flat most of the way with only few uphills just to keep it interesting. Prepare yourself for the rat race around the lake and then stop for coffee in a nearby garden centre. On a way back there will be an urban bit but the rest is lanes and nature with only the sound of clicks when chain changes cogs.

Weather: Overcast a tad. Temperature start at 14 degrees but quickly goes up to 21 on Sunday. Wind 3mph so almost still. UV index however is in high 4 so get smothered in the Asda sunscreen that apparently is better than Ambre Solaire.

CC Stop: Dorney Court Kitchen Garden is a beautiful cafe set next to Dorney Lake and one of the favourite spots for cyclists and coffee lovers. Bacon rolls are brilliant but it is the variety of cakes that will make this ride truly worthwhile.

Ride: We shall attempt to be organised in 2 abreast whenever possible and tight formation to keep us safe as per usual drill. Group4 ride average speed.

Club Social - Hit or Miss, Penn Street

The next social evening will be at 7:30 on 11th July in the usual pub: Hit Or Miss, Penn Street. Turning now to (almost) everyone’s favourite subject: cycling holidays.

Many of you will have enjoyed Club Pollentia in Mallorca. However, I decided to try two different locations this year by way of a change.  Therefore I will be giving a presentation to simply provide details of what I experienced in Catalonia and Andorra.  I have already discussed group discounts with the company concerned for what is subtly different to Club Pollentia in several ways.

I should stress I am not their agent or being paid to push their holidays!  I just want to share en masse with as many of you as possible what else is out there, rather than relate holiday tales from the road in the Gt Missenden car park or start my stories as we cycle back down Rignall Road for you all to sprint away from me before I’ve finished! Come along on the 11th and then perhaps we can all go away and give it some thought as an alternative.
