Mallorca kit checklist


This is a list to remind you what you might want to take.

  • Take out appropriate travel insurance
  • Pack your helmet
  • If you are hiring the bike pack your saddle – the most comfortable one you have.
  • Pack an extra pair of cycling shorts as well as the rest of your cycling kit (gloves, socks, shorts/bib, jersey)
  • Bring your pedals (2 euros a day extra to hire)
  • Bring your water bottles
  • Bring your club kit (team photo)
  • A cycling map of Mallorca
  • Your Garmin and the routes loaded and possible an extra charger as rides can last all day.
  • Be prepared to help with the routes
  • Bring some wet weather gear – arm/leg warmers gilet etc
  • Measure your saddle height and make a note on your phone or write it down. Measure from the middle of the crank of from the pedals doesn’t matter but make sure you write it down.
  • Those who have not hired bikes in Mallorca before, that the brakes will be the other way around, left hand operating the front brake, the right brake lever operates the back brake. If you are taking spare inner tubes they will need 60mm valves. Last year it a was cash (euros) only to hire the bikes
  • There are some routes where you will go through unlit tunnels; it’s advisable to have some lights as much to be seen as to see. Lastly when go going through these tunnels remove your sun glasses the are pitch black and wearing shades makes it worse
  • Bring a saddle bag
  • Bring some decent tyre leavers
  • Bring a small lock
  • Bring a decent pair of rider sunglasses
  • Bring a headband/cap/bandanna – your gonna sweat!
  • Bring some electrolyte tablets
