The regular Sunday ride leaders recently got together to agree on suitable distances, speeds and organisation of each of the four club ride groups. These are now published under ‘Group Ride Description’ located in the ’Club Rides’ tab. If you are a prospective new member please read these carefully to assess which group best suits your level of ability. Exisiting members may also want to take the opportunity to consider whether the group they usually ride in is the best choice for them.

Algarve training camp £499 for 2

We are delighted to announce our new Freewheelin’ Algarve Sportive Cycle Camp in March & April, available at the ‘recession busting’ price of £499 per person based on 2 people sharing.
There are numerous flights into Faro International Airport from many UK cities, and flight times are typically 2.5 hours.

Our base in the Eastern Algarve is home to a great variety of roads, from flat to mountainous, to enhance your fitness in a beautiful warm weather environment.

James Roberts – 4th place at Hillingdon

James finished fourth in the Cat 4 race of the Winter Race Series at Hillingdon last week. He is a newcomer to racing this season. Well done James!

ARCC Chiltern 100 Team

Anybody entering either the Gran or Medio routes of the C100 can form part of the Amersham Team – simply enter ‘Amersham RCC’ under team name when you enter. We have 15 guaranteed places for the team but any number can be part of the team (we just have 15 places reserved should the courses sell out before 15 ARCC riders have registered across the two courses). The top 6 finishers (relative to the appropriate time standards) get points. More details can be found on the C100 website:

Steadies! Sunday T-stop changed

Just in case you were hoping to join the Steadies at the excellent Brownlow cafe (formally known as the Monument Tea Rooms) pls note that the stop won’t be there. The weather will be too cold to sit outside, and there won’t be enough room inside. Robert will pick a T stop, probably on Saturday.

RoadID Group buy

There has been some interest regarding personal identification while out riding, as a RoadID wearer I contacted them and they have offered a 20% discount group buy. I have no affiliation to them apart from having one of their ID bracelets and all the feedback I can see about them is very positive.

Please see http://www.roadid.com/Common/default.aspx for a list of their products, in general they offer 2 types of ID products, the standard engraved type and an enhanced service where you can register your details online and have the emergency services access that information. I only propose to facilitate the former, you are welcome to subscribe to the online bit individually.

They have sent me a pro-forma spreadsheet, ideally I’d want to house that centrally so everyone can fill in their details, as yet I haven’t thought of a smart way of doing this but watch this space. I enclose an image of what the spreadsheet looks like and the sort of details you can input. I also don’t think the spreadsheet is complete, I wear a Slim bracelet and that doesn’t appear in the list, I suspect that’s an error but I will find out.
